These days, there are a growing numbers of thieves who are trying to steal expensive mobile phones then selling them on the black market for a lesser amount of price. I even heard from the news that somebody got killed from a robbery due to the reason that the victim doesn’t want to give up his own phone.
Does owning an expensive Cellular phone provides threat such as the case that I just mentioned?
The answer will be no if you know what you are doing. If it happens that you haven’t then you have to keep reading on what you need to do.
The first thing that you need to know is to get your phone’s serial number which can be done by entering *#06#. A fifteen digit code will automatically appear and you have to copy then place it on a safe place.
Let’s assume that your phone was stolen or lost and never been returned then you can contact your service provider to give your serial code. They will now completely deactivate the handset that even when the thief changes the SIM card, it will not work.
You can no longer get your phone back but the thief who took the unit cannot use or sell it anymore. If everybody does this kind of practice then surely there won’t be any thief that keeps an eye on your mobile phone.
Furthermore, top companies are now devising a product that can also track down your unit’s location allowing the authorities to catch the culprit. This has been already implemented on some countries and the result is a great success.
