Excellent product / price

it's not very often that i feel like i got a fair deal for my money. i was very surprised with this product though. i bought it on a whim, not really expecting it to work.

my first impression was that of solid construction. very heavy duty plastic. the flexible neck is thick and strong and won't move even holding the heaviest device.

i was fairly sure this wouldn't mount well in my 2010 honda fit. the cup holders are all a little oddly shaped. one was small. the other was very large and heavily tapered. another was more rectangular than round. turns out it mounts steadily in all of them.

the device holder aspect it ratcheting. it has pads to hold the device on the sides and two little pegs that fold out to hold the bottom. the pads on the side additionally expand vertically to adjust where they hold the device. all in all, ingeniously flexible in the number of ways it can adjust. considering your device may have controls on the sides and ports on the bottom this is important.

as far as i can tell it would fit just about any size device i can think of. i happen to have a nexus one that is very close to the size of an iphone 3gs.

a note on price / buying options. i paid $15.22 for this. when searching under "nexus one", i found the same bracketron unit listed for $26.99 (plus shipping) from a different seller. quite a difference. there is also another brand, "gomadic". they have a unit that, as far as i can tell, is identical to this model (bracketron). however, it's $29.99.

Perfect for HTC Droid Incredible and similar devices

I'm pleasantly surprised This fits my HTC Droid Incredible perfectly, and would also work with an Ipod or GPS unit.

The side arms are independently adjustable, so that each "finger" can be spread apart as far as needed to keep volume control buttons and the charge port accessible. I have them far apart on one side of the unit, and close together on the other...because I can.
The neck bends like sturdy heavy wire and holds its shape.
The base is expandable with an easy turn of the dial, to accommodate wider cup holders. But the best feature is the easy rotation that "pops" into place, allowing one to use their phone in a vertical position, or quickly change it to horizontal view with one hand. The bottom supports fold up or down as needed.

The plastic is heavy and solid feeling--I have confidence this will hold up for some time. But it also came with a lifetime warranty if registered at Bracketron's website.

There was an extra flat plate in the package that would slide onto the base, but has no grip fingers. It has 4 screw holes or could be used with velcro or foam tape. The instructions don't mention the part. I assume it's for permanent attachment to the back of an item that would not fit within the approximate 4 1/2" grip, such as an internet radio receiver or iPad.

Edit after using for several months: The bendable neck's length should be a bit longer, to accommodate low bulging dashboards. This is the same height as my shifter, and moving it to the side puts it at a bad angle for viewing. Another couple of inches would help.

Quality plastic, but flexible neck is short

I purchased this item after I purchased an Android phone (which has a great built-in GPS app). I had previously used a Tomtom AIO GPS, attached via a suction cup, onto a dashboard beanbag mount. Wanting to minimize the gadget accessories in my car, I was hoping this would fit the bill and hold my cell phone while driving.

PROS:
*Pretty decent quality plastic, not as flimsy as other cheapo made-in-china accessories
*Decent securing mechanism. The bottom sits in the cup holder, and you rotate a ring which expands the edges into the cup holder
*Flexible neck appears pretty durable, will definitely hold the shape you bend it into
*The gadget holder section can rotate 360, so you can do landscape or portrait orientations. It's also padded, with "arms" which can be arranged so that they don't accidentally press on side-buttons. Could easily snake a car charger into the gadget of your choice.

CONS:
*Unfortunately, the flexible neck is really really short. Extremely short. Unless your cup holders are at the very front, directly adjacent to the dashboard, and elevated, whatever it's holding is essentially right at your side, and not in front of you. A real problem for GPS in my opinion, as you'd really have to look down and away from the road a bit more than I think is safe. I'd seen other ones which were much longer, but based on the photos here, I should have known better.

If you want it to hold a mp3 player or something, probably not a problem. But then why not just put the mp3 player directly into the cup holder then?

I'm going to try a generic suction cup phone mount to attach to my old beanbag dashboard mount.

Comfortable but suffering from slow Bluetooth wakeup time and no dedicated HOME, END keys4
This keyboard is the most comfortable slim keyboard I've ever used. It only requires 2 AAA batteries for the keyboard and one AAA battery for the number pad.

Pros:
- Extremely Slim profile
- Number Pad is separated from the keyboard for high mobility and great for any netbook and laptop without number pad. It is also great for saving a crowded desktop space.
- The ergonomic curvature allows less stress on the wrist
- Comfortable tactile feedback but at the same time feels like the keyboard is integrated on your table due to the slim form factor.
- Extremely easy to pair up with my Asus Laptop that comes with built-in Bluetooth and Windows 7.

Cons:
- No dedicated HOME and END buttons on the keyboard but on the Number Pad 7, and 1 keys when Num Lock is OFF.
- Limited Multi Media Controls: only Volume Up, Down, and Mute.
- There are no secondary functions printed on the Number Pad, instead it gives you a tiny piece of card for you to memorize. But the good part is all number pad functions are the same as any other number pads on the market.
- Slow Bluetooth wake up time. It takes around 1 second for the keyboard to respond after 8 to 10 minutes of inactivity. You only need to press once and don't keep repeating the same key otherwise after the Bluetooth reconnects to the computer, you will see all the repeated typed strings.

Conclusion:
If you don't mind the bluetooth slow wake up time by all means get this It's very slim yet comfortable It is way better than Logitech's DiNovo or Apple's Bluetooth keyboard.

Great design and function, slightly frustrating due to Bluetooth

Fantastic design and feel for the keyboard. Great key action, it's very similar to the Microsoft ComfortCurve keyboard in layout and key motion. High responsiveness could be used for games although it is certainly not built as robustly as a gaming keyboard. Bluetooth connectivity is a problem from time to time and turn-on delay can be significant after it goes into power-save mode (sleep state). Wonderfully small form-factor fits perfectly inside my smaller laptop bag that houses my ultra-portable 13-inch-screen ASUS UL30VT.

Build Quality and Design: 8 out of 10

The entire external shell of this keyboard is made out of plastic. The bottom is white, not silver or black. I would prefer a silver colored bottom if an accent color was necessary, or just a continuation of black. The top shiny black bar of trim sucks up fingerprints easily but is also easily wiped off. The black area immediately surrounding the keys has a rubberized texture to it like many Logitech mice have. Time will tell if this coating will rub off or not, but it feels robust enough to hold up to lots of use.

If twisted while grabbing the edges, the keyboard flexes a bit. Since it's so thin I would expect this. It does not feel fragile, but this isn't your father's old IBM weapons-grade keyboard. The smaller edge is almost axe-like although not sharp, it does end in a nice blunted taper. This small leading edge along the palm entirely eliminates the need for a wrist rest of any kind. It has exceptional ergonomics if used on a desk or flat surface. Easily one of the most comfortable keyboards I've used.

Contents of Box: 9 out of 10

The product box is surprisingly small and has a nice weight to it.

Other than the keyboard and the 10-key keypad there is a protective pouch for the keypad that is made out of a gray denim material included in the box. The pouch material isn't particularly amazing and the color choice seems odd since it matches nothing on the product, but at least there's something to put the keypad in. There is no such cover for the keyboard included in the box, and I haven't seen one sold as an accessory.

There are three AAA Energizer batteries in the box. The first round of batteries is on Microsoft. They are difficult to locate since they are tucked in a small white box wedged into the efficient packaging.

The oddly folded "Getting Started" manual is understandable enough and has more languages than I ever would have guessed was required.

Function: 10 out of 10

The keyboard can be used without ever using or connecting the keypad. Or just the keypad can be used without the keyboard, for those in need of an expensive 10-key solution. Each device registers as its own Bluetooth device. The keyboard responsiveness is great, even good enough to play FPS games with from 10-feet away. Although I can't say this is a gaming keyboard it could work for that purpose.

The on-off switch is perfect for shoving this keyboard into a laptop bag. But it does add some conscious effort on the part of the user. If the physical switch is not shut it off when the keyboard is shoved into a laptop bag the keys will inevitably get pressed and batteries will not last.

Connectivity: 5 out of 10

It takes a long time to wake up from a sleep state. I've measured as much as 5-10 seconds. One time so far the keyboard never woke up at all after going into sleep mode. I had to cycle the power switch on the bottom of the keyboard to reconnect the device. I find this unacceptable for the price tag. It's related to the Bluetooth technology, which I still have not seen work as flawlessly as the industry claims. That considered, I've used a few RF wireless keyboards that loose keystrokes and have been unreliable. I would take this keyboard over any of those units. As far as choosing the lesser of two evils I'd go with this Bluetooth unit over the RF devices I've used any day.

Most laptops ship with Bluetooth built in but might not have that connection turned on. There will be no extra hardware needed to connect this device to such laptops. Desktop systems do NOT usually have Bluetooth built in and will require a Bluetooth USB adapter. That adapter can be found anywhere from $8 to $25 depending on where they are purchased. Keep that extra expense in mind if you intend to use this for a desktop system.

Score: 4 out of 5

I had to subtract one point for the sometimes frustrating connectivity that afflicts all Bluetooth devices, this one included. Otherwise this keyboard is solid, designed well and functions great.

Wonderful Keyboard

I purchased this keyboard for my mobile office. It fits nicely in my standard size briefcase. It is extremely light weight however it is very durable (I use it 8 hours a day). Very easy to use and I love the slim profile (no need for a wrist pad).

Awesome case, but does add considerable bulk...

I waited anxiously for Otterbox to release this case and ordered mine within minutes of receiving the "Defender Released" e-mail. I received the case on Friday and I must admit, it did not disappoint.

First impressions: The case is of great quality and a lot of detail went into making it compatible with all the OEM "accessories". The holster is among the best I've seen for a phone of this size and works perfectly with the case.

After carrying it for two days (and this is already my 3rd iPhone 4 case - I am rough on my phones): The case is without a doubt the most durable I've seen for the iPhone 4 and lives up to the reputation that Otterbox has built over the years.

Cons: The case does add considerable bulk to the phone and may not be perfect for pocket carriers. It does include a holster which works great and can rotate for vertical or parallel carrying of the phone.

Miscellaneous: I have no complaints really, but I am left to wonder if the silicone "flaps" that cover the earphone and USB plug-ins could have been a little more user-friendly. Sometimes they are frustrating to get back into their proper "closed" position.

Edited one month after using: I am still extremely happy with the case. I have dropped my phones a few times already and though the case is starting to show signs the abuse I have provided it the phone still looks pristine. I opened up the case this morning to clean the phone etc and to my surprise there wasn't much to clean. With cases I've owned in the past I would have a forest of lint, dust etc. that would trap itself between the case and the phone. The Otterbox has minimized that debris.

I am uploading several photos showing the difference between a "bare" iPhone 4 and an iPhone 4 in the Defender case so everyone can get an idea of how much "protection" and in turn "bulk" this case adds to the phone.

Edited to add: Amazon removed my pictures when the placed the phone back in a "pre-order" status, I will re-upload them again once they allow. I'm not sure why they state "pre-order" when it should state "Back-ordered, will deliver in xx to xx weeks", but I digress.

Beauty and Protection in one Package. An improvement on earlier designs of the Defender

I received my Otterbox Defender for my iPhone 4 and have been testing it in order to write this review. I used the Otterbox Defender for my iPhone 3G and loved it. It provided the kind of protection that I needed for my phone since I was kind of rough on them. But with the earlier Defender case, I found some issues related to the screen and some of the port covers (mainly the charger port). This new case resolves them all. I'm happy that the Otterbox company listened and responded with this new design. It's beautiful, functional, practical -- and for all of the protection it provides from lumps and bumps, it is well worth any extra bulk that you may perceive.

For the 3-layered protection that the Otterbox Defender provides for the new iPhone 4, one would expect a lot more bulk. Not so, it's one of the beautiful things about these cases. Each layer fits perfectly on top of the other one. The silicone is engineered to hug every bevel on the plastic inner case. Both layers give complete access to all of the new button and camera configurations. So well engineered that you can tell the case was made with thought and complete precision. You may see knock-offs (as I have), but the real deal is worth the money.

There are a couple of things I noticed comparing this new Defender to the former 3G / 3GS Defender case:

- the screen protector seems to have been fixed so that the "oil bubbles" won't appear. I had the bubbles right out of the box for the former version. Seems like they fixed something or changed a material or coating. I'll update if anything to the contrary happens. No fingerprints on the screen cover either How do they do that?

- the holster (which I never really use, honestly) makes getting the phone in and out of it a snap (literally). The holster is good because it doubles as a dock or easel to watch videos, etc. This new design clips in from the side and can snap in facing front or back with no qualms. No hard fussing with this one.

- the iPhone and case fit easily in a pocket or purse and don't add extra bulk (not like you would imagine). The silicone is made in such a way where it is not the sticky kind of silicone (the cheaper stuff that smells and has a gripping quality to it). This has no odor and easily slips out of a pocket (I saw a comment on the other review so I thought I would answer it).

- the port for the charger on the new Otterbox Defender can now accommodate non-OEM chargers with wider connectors (the older one could not). This was a hassle with non-OEM car chargers. This is no longer a problem. FIXED.

- One potential issue is although I like the patterned back (little etched diamonds), I imagine that these could be a harbinger of dust or dirt. It's easily cleaned though (just wipe it with a cloth or on your shirt sleeve). Time will have to tell on this design decision.

I'm a fan of the Otterbox and bought one originally because of sheer clumsiness. For an expensive device like an iPhone, it's worth the protection. I was initially intimidated from the case thinking it was going to be far too clunky. Not so. Like the iPhone 4 the Otterbox Defender iPhone 4 case shares the same aesthetic lines. If you have never owned a case like this before, installing the iPhone into it might take one look at directions. If you've used them before, it's the same type of clamshell/snap and silicone slip-on design.

It's a tough little case in a nice looking package. I truly appreciate the precise engineering that goes into the creation of Otterbox products, this company does what they do very well.

Defender - Solid Feel, Great Protection

I pre-order the Otterbox Defender case and it is my first case from Otterbox; I love it. I have tried the Incipio Silicrylic Gel/Shell Combo, Griffin Reveal and the AGF Ballistic Rugged Shell but prefer the Otterbox over all of the others.
(A) INCIPIO SILICRYLIC - The Incipio is nice and provides a soft silicone core which feels very nice to the touch. It also comes with a hard acrylic shell which fits nicely over the silicone core. It is a great case but the Silicrylic does not come with screen protection and I experienced some reflection and flashback problems when taking pictures with the LED flash due to the hole size and tapering. The case itself is a little bit slippery but goes in-and-out of your pocket nicely
(B) GRIFFIN REVEAL - The Griffin Reveal is very basic. It is basically an Apple bumper with a polycarbonate backing. Again, no screen protection and had flashback issues. When I tried using my Invisible Shield with the Griffin, the edges kept peeling back due to the rubbers sides of the case not completely covering the edges of the screen protector. If you have the Invisible Shield, you may not want to use this case
(C) AGF BALLISTIC - The AGF Ballistic Rugged Shell provides the most protection of the 4 cases. It has built-in screen protection, an internal plastic shell with inner and outer rubber shock absorption and an additional, removable, outer silicone protective shell (case will work without the outer shell). It is HUGE but you can probably do anything you want with it and the drop would not impact the iPhone 4, nestled safely inside. I haven't tried the LED flash so I don't know if there are any flashback problems. The case is great for people who don't care about the extra size and want the ultimate protection for their iPhone.
(E) OTTERBOX DEFENDER - The Otterbox case is extraordinarily designed. It comes with built-in screen protection which does not stick to the face of the iPhone (I took off my Invisible Shield, which does not work well with this case due to the clear protective membrane sticking to the Invisible Shield). It has a high impact polycarbonate shell and a silicone outer layer. The case is fairly bulky and doubles the size of the iPhone but I love it. There is very, very minimal flashback from the LED flash. It has protective silicone plugs over the entire case leaving only the speaker and mic open (for obvious reasons). The various silicone plugs are attached to the case so you won't need to worry about losing them. They are easy to open when accessing the headphone port, 30-pin connector and the mute switch. It also comes with a holster clip for your belt. The only problem with this case is that it is not easy to take on-and-off the iPhone because the phone is so well protected inside. Also, due to the thickness of the case, it may not dock on some of your previous purchased accessories. However, if you want a superior designed case providing extraordinary protection with a very nice feel and without the bulk of the AGF Ballistic case then the Otterbox is for you. I give it 5 stars.

Great Battery

I bought this battery because the G1 battery sucks. Now I can use my phone for a full day, including all the features that make it special. It is nice actually being able to use the GPS for once without completely draining the battery. I have actually had the phone last two days, without disabling syncing or GPS.

Good Battery Life...Terrible Case

The battery has the promised extended life but the new backing for the case has next to no durability. It has to sit much further off the phone than the original case but has no additional support to it, so the smallest amounts of pressure cause it to compress in ways that lead it to eventually cracking; in my case it cracked on one of the corners and no amount of glue will keep it together.

Again, the battery is great but don't expect the new casing to withstand any abuse.

Great

I needed a much longer lasting battery, since I am unable to recharge my phone during the day and I use it heavily. This one does the trick. It does add about 1/4-3/8" of thickness, so it's not for everyone.

* Talking Alarm Clock - 1.9GHz Corded / Cordless Phone.
* Expandable up to six handsets
* Up to three-way conference capability
* Ringer ID
* White backlit LCD on handset and base

Long Range, Excellent Clarity and Greater Security

DECT 6.0 (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology lets you move freely around your home with long range and amazingly clear sound. It also assures greater protection against eavesdropping for all your calls. Operating in the 1.9GHz frequency range, your phone will not conflict with other wireless devices such as computer routers, wireless keyboards, microwave ovens and other common household devices.

Two-Line Operation

Perfect for home or business, two-line operation means you can conference in two outside lines to have a three-way conversation. Or place your current call on hold to make another call.

Silent Mode Lets You Choose When and Where the Phone Rings

Now you can program each handset to ring — or not — at your discretion. Before going to sleep, simply set the bedside handset to Silent Mode so that it won't ring in your bedroom. In the meantime, the handset in the den will still ring when that important call comes in without disturbing the person who's sleeping.

Works During a Power Outage

Power outage? No problem. The corded handset works even when the electricity doesn't. Enjoy peace of mind knowing you can make calls even when the power goes out. (Corded handset, Line 1 only.)

Put a Handset in Every Room

With one cordless handset (one corded base and one satellite handset) and the option of adding five additional handsets1 — all while using only one base and one phone jack — go ahead and put one in the den, the kitchen, the master bedroom and the living room so you won't have to make a run for it when the phone rings.

Never Miss a Call with the Light-Up Indicator

Don't miss important calls when the ringer is off. The Light-Up Indicator with Ringer Alert at the base of the antenna will flash quickly to show that you have an incoming call, and it will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message. So turn off the ringer and never miss a call.

Vista installed drivers for LG Vu

The cable fit my LG Vu CU920 perfectly and Windows Vista automatically installed the drivers without a CD. The phone then showed as a hard drive in Windows Vista. You can NOT use the cable to sync data with Microsoft Outlook. I also installed BitPim (for LG Vu, set Phone Type to "LG-VX8700") and was able to access the phones file system and to disable an annoying security nag every time a 3rd party java application is run on the phone. The cable comes with a CD, but it seems to only be for the "choclate".

Cable works with my LG Scoop

I purchased this cable in order to load music (and NPR shows) onto my phone and to copy pictures to my computer without having to remove the phone's memory card. With the cable plugged into the phone and into a USB port on my computer, the phone looks just like a removable drive. (Be sure to select mass storage device from the set-up menu on the phone.) No additional software was needed. The cable also allows the phone to be charged by the computer's USB port.

Cable great; "software", not so much...

The cable works great. My XP laptop found the device like a champ. The "software" is actually a listing of the websites where you can find the driver, not the drivers themselves, and I actually did better by googling my particular phone and getting the driver THAT way. (The route they took me on the disk was confusing, to say the least.)

Works as advertised in BB Curve and Pearl smartphones

Have used this card in the Curve 8830 from Verizon, the Pearl 8130 from Verizon, and the Pearl 8100C from AT&T. The Verizon phones were running stock firmware version 4.3. The AT&T 8100C was upgraded to the new 4.5 release and I cannot confirm that 8GB would be supported in the older 4.2 release.

In all cases, it worked perfectly and is great to have so much storage available. Amazing how much prices have come down on these cards.

As described just a charger

item arrived as described, regular charger with the new nokia tip. It works great on my E61.

Nokia vs. fakes

I was using a generic phone charger with my Nokia E50 before and the average charge time for a dead battery was about 3 hours. The battery life was way below standards. After using the original nokia charger, I can charge two dead batteries in less than 3 hours and the phone does perform better in terms of battery life. Using an original nokia charger also protects you from inadvertently damaging your phone or your battery.

Works well for G1

I have a few different armbands I'll use for different occasions, but this is probably the all-around best-fit for the G1. Touchscreen still works reasonably well through plastic, and it's a comfortable enough fit with proper hole placement for headset/peripherals.

Downsides are that it's not the perfect fit, and depending on the connector/adapter you use for your headphones, it may become dislodged by the elastic retention material. This has not been a major issue for me, but has happened once or twice (I suspect it's the style of adapter I'm using: 2-in-1 mini USB and 3.5mm Stereo Audio Multi-Adapter for ATT 8525/8925, T-Mobile Dash, HTC TyTN/TyTN II). The velcro-elastic strap is moderately comfortable for use on bare skin.

Been using for 6 months with no noticeable wear or tear, apart from minor dirtiness of plastic interior (I've yet to actively try to clean it though).

Great Deal

Is not a direct fit for G1 but is close enough, touchscreen works great. You can't beat the price.

This is one of the best g1 (and least expensive) armbands available and I use mine very often.

The answer to all your low signal and dropped call problems

I travel through the countryside frequently, and always have areas where I drop calls or can't get data on my phone. I've seen those cheap signal boosters you put into your phone on ebay, and they just don't work. So needless to say, I was skeptical that a product like a the Wilson signal booster could really work for me. Boy, was I wrong.

If used properly, this signal booster will completely erase all frustration you once had with dropped calls and low signal problems. Since installing this in my car, I have yet to drop a call. My bars went from 1 to 4 instantly as it was plugged in. My call quality improved dramatically too - once where there was static is now a crystal clear conversation. I am SO pleased with this product.

The antenna itself is a little unsightly, especially when used in a car. You need to put the antenna on your roof, and have the cable running through an open window. I was able to shut my window just about all the way with it, so it shouldn't be much of a problem in winter. Unsightly - yes. Does it work - YES.

I've also tried this antenna in various hotels that did not offer wifi. I have a Verizon card I plug in to my laptop to get 3g, but in some areas I travel, I was lucky to get 1X speeds. I just hooked up the signal booster and put the receiver within a couple of feet of my laptop, and wham - instant 3g coverage, no problems. And the nice this is that it amplifies every signal within 2 feet. So if I'm using it for my laptop and also need to take a call, I get great reception on my phone as well.

I can't say enough great things about this product. It may be a bit pricey, but is definitely worth it if you have low signal problems. Don't bother with any other product offering the same kind of results - no one can beat the Wilson.

Works a Treat

I have to say that AT&T has the roads in Reno covered very well, I never, well almost never, get any dropped calls. But leave Reno and head toward Oregon, via Susanville and you lose service. Well you do go out in the middle of nowhere. However, once you come upon Susanville, from either side, you get one bar, pretty far out and shaky service.

So, I was more than pleased, since I make this trip a lot, to get a chance to review Wilson's Mobile Pro. Does it work? Yes it does. Where I'd get one bar before, now I get the full range. Hard to believe. In fact in Reno itself, my bars are maxed out, the signal clear, better than before, and for me, it was pretty good, now it's great.

I did have it professionally installed, but mostly because I have a friend who installs car stereos for a living. I could done it, it didn't look that hard. If you're getting dropped calls on city streets or want better reception on the road, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Wilson Electronics Mobile Pro signal booster. It works a treat, but then I pretty much knew it would, because I have the home version boosting my signal where I live and like this product, it does it's job well. I'm now officially a big fan of Wilson Electronics.

Best iPhone mounting solution I've been able to find, but not perfect

I was looking for a solution to mount my iPhone in my car to use it as a GPS unit without having to hold it in my hand and look away from the road. I had considered everything from suction mounts to vent clips, but eventually decided on this mount for several reasons:

1. was able to mount almost anywhere (I did not want it blocking the windshield or my air vents, meaning that standard suction cup mounts and vent clips were out--instead, I needed something capable of mounting either on the dash or to either side of the steering wheel beside the vents)

2. this appeared to be well-designed, and SoundGate typically has a good reputation

3. I liked that I could easily rotate the phone from vertical to horizontal while still in the mount, angle the mount to face me or a passenger, and tilt the phone to my liking)

4. This mount works on any device, which is a necessity when mounting *with* a case on your iPhone

After having it installed for a week and using the mount on a 700 mile drive, it fared relatively well. I was able to mount the phone in the center of my dash and use the phone as a GPS for the whole trip. The biggest issues that I had were that if driving on a bumpy road, the mount had a tendency to rotate the phone a bit off-center (i.e. it would rotate a bit in-between vertical and horizontal), and I found myself re-centering it back to a vertical or horizontal position several times throughout the trip). The mount also has the ability to rotate either toward the driver or passenger, and can be locked in place by twisting a screw on the mount. This is a great concept, but unfortunately the screw wiggled itself slightly loose a couple times throughout the trip, meaning that if the phone started out facing angled toward the driver it ended up facing more toward the middle or toward the passenger. Honestly, these are minor gripes that are easily addressed and probably wouldn't bother most people too much, considering that a phone with a case isn't exactly something that is designed to be mounted in the first place.

The mount is affixed to the mounting point of your choosing with adhesive tape. This must be very carefully aligned with the rest of the mount or it may not be as stable as you'd like (this isn't really a con, but is something to be careful of when installing). Using the adhesive also requires using a strong cleaning chemical (provided in the packaging) on the mounting location *and* the device you wish to mount). I found the cleaning solution to be strong enough that it slightly discolored the dashboard (note that I was rubbing quite hard, so if you're installing this mount I'd recommend not pushing too hard when using the cleaning wipes and you probably won't have this problem).

Last thing..the instructions aren't too hard to follow, but they are in the format of IKEA instructions (i.e. all pictures, which aren't always 100% clear). Reading through the entire set of instructions first and then proceeding is a good idea.

Even though this mount isn't perfect, it's still quite good. I'm pretty sure that for my purposes it works better than any of the other mounts out there. Since it seems to be the best (or one of the best) available but still has room for improvement, I give this mount four stars.

Well engineered solution -- very satisfied

I was skeptical at first of this car mount due to the lack of reviews and different design.

1) I didn't want a suction cup mount because it's technically illegal in CA.
2) I didn't want one that clipped onto the AC vent because I want all my vents unencumbered.

The solution that I was considering going for was getting one of those weighted friction plates, THEN using a suction cup mount on top of that. That was expensive and bulky.

This mount basically pawns the rest. It's small yet very powerful in terms of positioning. The one problem I ran into was using the adhesive to mount it. I guess I had more polish on my interior than I had expected, so on my first attempt the adhesive didn't stick at all, but after contacting customer service they promptly sent me a new one with another cleaning pad, and after cleaning the area more thoroughly the adhesive stuck like it was supposed to.

So my advice is MAKE SURE you clean the area you're going to attach it VERY thoroughly, otherwise the adhesive won't stick properly.

Great product. Have only been using it for a few days, but it seems durable enough. Will update if it somehow falls apart.

Excellent product

The SoundGate M2 is a well engineered and well made product. The installation instructions are clear and the product mounts easily on curved surfaces. I used the M2 on dash of my '03 Mini Cooper S to mount a 4th Gen. iPod Touch. It mounted well just to the right side of my tachometer, is visible behind the steering wheel, easy to reach and yet hidden enough to keep the iPod in-place when parked.

Awesome

I think this phone is really cool.I got mine on 5-23-09 for me it is today ,but for you mabye not.Well it is cool because it has a full keyboard and you can text freely. It also has a camera. It is also small so you can take it any where.I dont think the screen is small but I don't know it depends on other people.Once you start using it you really can't tell it's small.I reallt don't care myself.I don't know if this is good for people with huge hands but if I were you I'd buy it.I got it for $69.99
at the sprint store in the mall in Lynchburg. But it is cheaper on amazon.I got it at home because I couldn't wait.So GET THIS PHONE!I am a kid so it is nice for me.

Good buy

my girlfriend wanted a phone with a keyboard but different from others.she looked everywhere for this phone when she found it on here.the phone arrived sooner than estimated delivery in the condition stated.she loves this phone

I Wish...

I purchased my first wildcard kyocera three years ago. I love the phone. It was stylish, easy to use and I could text in a flash. Also Virgin mobile allowed me to be free from a binding contract. I have since gone to Verizon wireless for my phone services but am counting down the days until I can have my wildcard phone and Virgin Mobile plan back. Never should have left.

Not all HTC G1 Battery Suppliers are Equal

When a HTC G1 battery is reviewed all sellers seem to be listed together under one product link.
I bought from CCMACCESSORIES which has the ASIN:B0028MIQG8 (from my order detail). The reason I bought from this company was a guarantee (cost a couple dollars more than other sellers) I would get a factory OEM part. And that is what shipped; P/N 35H00106-02M

It took some time to match up price with "look-a-like" batteries. It was basically a shell game until the question, "Why is this seller a few dollars more than the others?". Short Hint: In replacement parts OEM does not have to mean the part shipped from the factory; it can be made by anyone and fulfill the same function. Now this is where the factory Part Number (P/N) is key - 3rd party has to use a different P/N.

There can be a lower quality battery (price lower too) that looks the same but is not the same. So, the premium price CCMACCESSORIES has is not that great but you get the real battery, not some unknown manufacturer. As with any battery things change and it is best to find a seller that is stating the part number.

This new battery on standby with all the unnecessary background tasks killed lasts 2 days. It took running a video stream (ustream app) 30 minutes to get a conditioning battery dead state. Number 2 of 3; after 3rd time the USB charger is ok to use. During the conditioning only use wall charger to charge 0 to full, phone off if possible.

Amazon needs to refine grouping all sellers into one review block under a similar description of product. It makes the good guys look bad when buying and it does not hurt the sellers of "look-a-like" at all. Plus it confused me and I wasted time weeding out suspects (they shipped factory and/or 3rd party made battery).

Bona Fide

As advertised, an actual HTC battery. Seems to work great, and at a very good price. You'll really need this extra battery with a G1 phone, for sure.

Reviews

The Plantronics MX150 noise-canceling mobile headset combines the company's proprietary Flex Grip design with advanced microphone technology to deliver a discreet, stable, and high-quality headset. The MX150 is compatible with most headset-ready mobile devices, including models made by Motorola, Samsung, LG, and Kyocera.

The headset's bendable noise-canceling boom mic is designed to provide an optimal fit and high clarity just about anywhere, and the headset's Flex Grip design permits one-handed placement in your ear.

One-touch call answer/end and voice-activated dialing are available for most popular Nokia and Motorola phones, though be aware that voice-activated dialing must be supported by your phone or service for this feature.

The headset uses a standard 2.5 mm input in an L-shaped configuration that limits wear and tear.

Light, comfortable, great for eyeglass wearers, good sound...

Pros: Light and comfortable, very good microphone clarity, good earpiece sound.
Con: Somewhat difficult to wear; no earpiece volume amplification and microphone mute button.

I purchased a Plantronics MX153-M1 (for $22 at an family-run electronics store a few blocks away from J&R Music and Computer World), the version of the MX150 made specifically for Motorola phones - v60, v70, v120, T720 and later phones. The MX153-M1 adds a push-button towards the upper-middle of its cord that enables the headset wearer to dial the last-dialed number, use voice-activated dialing, answer calls, and end calls without touching the phone. The MX153-N1 and MX153-N3 are push-button versions of the MX150 for Nokia phones. The base MX150 itself does not have the push-button and associated functionality.

The MX150's earbud is anchored to the wearer's ear by a soft rubber grip that wraps under and essentially clips the earlobe (pinna). It takes several seconds to fit the earbud and pivot the microphone boom to their proper angles; this must be done each time the wearer puts on the headset. The disadvantage of this fitting requirement is that if you are not already wearing the headset when your phone starts ringing, you are better off answering your phone the old-fashion way. Once fitted however, the MX150 is light and comfortable to point of being unnoticeable. The MX150's FlexGrip design (shared by the Plantronics MX100 family) is better than ear-loop designs that can get in the way of eyeglasses and sunglasses; headband designs that can pull on the wearer's hair; and classic earbud designs that can easily fall off. People with earrings may not be comfortable with the MX150 because of its grip on the ear's pinna.

In contrast to generic headset microphones that often make the wearer sound distant, the MX150's microphone performance is very good and makes the wearer sound clear and close to the phone. The noice-cancelling microphone does a good job of eliminating ambient noise - even inside a moving New York City subway car. The MX150 family does not have microphone volume control and microphone mute functions.

Earpiece performance is good. The MX150 lacks earpiece volume control, relying instead on the phone's volume control functions. As with any headset design lacking self-powered earpiece volume amplification, ambient noise may be an issue in open or noisy environments, e.g. a busy New York City street or subway car.

The MX150's price competition is with the Jabra ProBoom. The latter has battery-powered earpiece volume amplification, but consumers should carefully weigh this great advantage against the MX150's fit and weight benefits. The two competitors also differ in push-button support. The MX150 family has push-button models for Motorola and Nokia phones, while the ProBoom family has push-button models for Nokia and Samsung phones.

Of the three Plantronics headsets that I have purchased (the other two being the M175 and M100), the MX153-M1 is the best one that I have yet used.

Great when they work...

This headset is light and comfortable and works very well with most cell phones. Unfortunately, they always seem to die on me. I've gone through five MX150s in the last eight months. I buy them in pairs now so I always have a backup. I can't find anything I like better, so I keep going down this road, but be prepared for problems if you are a heavy user. Also, do not buy this headset if you are looking to use it with a Uniden TRU8885 Cordless Phone. You will have significant outbound volume problems.

Perfect

Hey. This is a perfect little headset. I've had it for a year now. People can't tell I'm on a cell phone. Excellent at blocking outside noise, and I can hear everything crystal clear on the receiving end. Great Buy.

Fits Great, Looks Great

I just looked up on YouTube how to replace the Housing for my Blackberry and it was pretty Simple and this Front plate made my phone look brand new. Great Buy...

8300 Repairs

Worked Great. Used this as part of the complete rebuild of the exterior of my 8300. ( Got damaged at the Glamis Dunes ) Highly recommended.

It included a completely new Keypad and Trackball. I broke the plastic pry tool pretty quickly - my own fault. Searched 8300 repairs and found a number of both U-Tube and Wikpedia guided instructions sets available. I could now probably rebuild the complete assembly in 15 minutes although it was more than an hour and a half the first time. This kit also had a Tork T-10 but you will need at least a T-7 or others as well to complete the repair. I didn't have the T-7 so it took a while to come up with something to improvise the removal of these screws.
